Back To Basics
|

I was reviewing Mr. Dankbaar’s response to my original report and contemplating my reply. Things were fine until I reached the following statement from Mr. Vernon. "Dave Perry moved to Texas from Langley, Virginia, home of the CIA. Does that give you any clues? COOK THE LYING BASTARD THEN TURN HIM OVER AND RAISE THE FLAME!!!!!! Then throw him out in the pasture to die. He's a total piece of shit and GUESS WHAT...he's worse now than he was in 1993....!!!!" It brought to mind Mr. Dankbaar’s assertion that I was "already losing (myself) in abusive language and insults, so I think a personal exchange would only result in further deterioration of good manners." I still fail to see where I used abusive language in any reference to Mr. Dankbaar. Mr. Dankbaar has much more at stake both financially and ethically than I do. It is obvious to me that he is the type of person who will indulge his associates in their use of abusive language, insults, and bad manners while being intolerant of others. I now believe we both are completely polarized in our views with respect to the Files’ case. This means our discussion has become fruitless. However, I urge you to look in detail at Mr. Dankbaar’s and Mr. Vernon’s answers to my questions. You can judge for yourself how responsive they were. I want to get back to the basics and apply a little logic. From at least November 26, 1993 Mr. Vernon has been trying to get Federal, Texas State, and Dallas County authorities to open a criminal case against James Files. |

| Proof: "I appreciate the opportunity to appear before you. Mr. Chairman and distinguished members of the Board, my name is Robert G. Vernon. The gentleman who is supposed to be with me now is John R. Stockwell, he is late. I am a television producer, and Mr. Stockwell is a former CIA case officer. He is a noted author and screenwriter." | |

| Proof: "I trust that you and the United States Department of Justice and the officials of the State of Texas will act accordingly on retired Special Agent Shelton’s findings." | |

It is now October of 2003. What advantage has Mr. Vernon and his team achieved, in the last 10 years, toward reaching their goal of opening the case? |
|
| Outcome: "As a result of my letters to these high officials in our government, the FBI debriefed me on November 9, 1993 at my home in Houston. During and after this meeting, it became quite evident to me that the FBI and our government are going to continue with the cover-up that has existed over the last 30 years." | |
| Letter to John Bolt (11/26/93) | |
| Outcome: "In fact, the original FBI agent that gave the initial lead to the investigator has been seriously threatened with his job and pension over this matter." | |
| Letter to John Bolt (11/26/93) | |
| Outcome: "Both the FBI and the CIA withheld critical evidence after the assassination." | |
| The Dallas Brief by Bob Vernon (01/29/94) | |
|
Outcome: "The involvement of the FBI’s Beaumont office and (US Attorney Bob) Wortham is an example of the continuing government cover-up of the Kennedy assassination." |
|
| Bob Vernon quoted from the Beaumont Enterprise (04/11/94) | |
| Outcome: "We do continue to accept and investigate all credible information on this tragic event. Therefore, a copy of your communication is being sent to our Dallas Office, which handled this investigation." | |

| Does the use of the patriotic appeal look a little bleak? Well Mr. Vernon credits himself as a great promoter and since the government won’t listen maybe he can make a little money. | |
|
"Experts on the assassination of John F. Kennedy are standing in line to be on our TV program." says producer Bob Vernon the man in charge of JFK MURDER SOLVED - - a two hour pay per view special airing in early fall of 1995." |

| Released to JFK Lancer on or about 06/06/95 | |

Mr. Dankbaar what you or this "total piece of shit" thinks about this whole affair means little. Mr. Vernon has attempted to present his, now your, "evidence" to Democratic and Republican administrations. He has written the Texas Attorney General and the Dallas District Attorney. He has contacted reporters such as John Bolt and Mike Cochran. He has had articles appear in newspapers to numerous to mention. He has a web site showing some of his, now your, "evidence." And over the past 10 years just what has Mr. Vernon achieved? Absolutely nothing. Well that’s not exactly true. He has succeeded in duping at least one gullible person into reducing his monetary loss. |
