Within Three Days Wim Flees The Scene September 29th to October 2nd 2003 |
|
On Monday, September 29, 2003, Mr. Wim Dankbaar requested I send him a copy of my web page "The James Files' Story Without Bob Vernon." Since it was in Adobe Acrobat configuration he asked I supply it in MS Word format so he could respond to what he contended was "Another extensive effort to discredit our evidence." I e-mailed him and provided the document as an attachment within a day. He also made a few comments about my report and asked a few questions. Mr. Dankbaar requested we both adhere to the following: "One rule I'd like to propose is that our exchange will not be considered private and both of us are free to copy it as a whole or in fragments to the public arena." In issuing a reply to his questions and comments, the one thing I did disagree with was the use of fragments. Here is how the messages line up: 1 - As you can see from the first e-mail below it didn't take long for him to disconnect himself from the very procedure he initiated. This is followed by my reply. 2 - The June 18, 2003 FBI reply to Mr. Vernon's letter and Agent Shelton's investigation. 3 - Mr. Dankbaar's second e-mail. He needs more time to respond to my "disinfo." 4 - Apparently Wim feels I am spending too much time on the case. I decided to give him a little more information on my involvement with Dr. Truth. You will note some interesting quotes from forum messages Mr. Vernon posted using the name Kathryn Marvin. My next posting, unless it appears in the "public arena", will be Mr. Dankbaar's response to my original article. From: "wim dankbaar" dank@xs4all.nl To: "Dave Perry" dperry2@flash.net Sent: Thursday, October 02, 2003 4:08 AM Subject: Re: I'm honored with your interest! Mr. Dave Perry I have consulted with retired FBI agent Zack Shelton, and have come to the conclusion, also based on his advice, not to bother addressing you personally with reactions to your blatantly distortive "essay". It is so full of errors, misrepresentations, subjective allegations and omissions that I question your integrity and sincerity to engage in a constructive debate over our evidence. What you will get from me at this stage, is my further opinion that your erroneous statement that Joe Granata is deceased, is illustrative for the shallowness of your research, and that your attempts to discredit the deceased Joe West, who cannot defend himself and was the only man so far to pursue exhumation of JFK's remains, a feat that undoubtly would have blown the lid off the conspiracy, is simply sickening to me. Sincerely, Wim Dankbaar 1. It would appear Mr. Dankbaar is no longer honored by my interest. 2. I am surprised he didn't consult with Mr. Shelton BEFORE he decided to engage in his own discussion of my evidence or lack thereof. 3. I thought it was Mr. Dankbaar's intention that we both communicate in the "public arena" rather than "addressing me personally." 4. It was never my plan to participate in nor did I understand that Mr. Dankbaar wished to participate in a "constructive debate." Based upon Dankbaar's allegations I assumed that my essay was so full of "errors, misrepresentations, subjective allegations and omissions" that it was his sole intention to point out my numerous blunders in the "public arena." 5. I felt I adequately answered Mr. Dankbaar's question, concerning the Granata death issue, by explaining my use of the Social Security Index. It should be an easy assignment for Mr. Dankbaar to show in the "public arena" where I am incorrect. If proven wrong, I feel I owe Mr. Granata a formal apology. Until that time I fail to see where this SINGLE issue, still not resolved by Mr. Dankbaar, "is illustrative for the shallowness of (my) research." 6. I challenge Dankbaar to show where I attempt "to discredit the deceased Joe West." I make no derogatory statement with respect to Mr. West. I simply quote from the documents presented by West and Mr. Vernon, as well as, comments made about West by Ron Dusek, Bob Wortham, and Ron Kelly. 7. If Mr. Dankbaar thinks I was off base with my comment that Mr. Vernon elevated West to patriot status I offer the following: In 1994 Mr. Vernon issued an outline as to how Joe West solved the "crime of the century." Vernon indicated among other things that West was ridiculed by the Texas media and West's life was threatened by competing researchers including one researcher "who had killed before." 8. The fact that Joe West attempted to "pursue exhumation of JFK's remains" is not relevant to the James Files' story. 9. I would expect that Mr. Dankbaar should have to specifically explain how the exhumation of JFK's remains would have "undoubtedly blown the lid off the conspiracy." If the body was in good condition and new evidence showed a shot from the front it would simply VERIFY CONSPIRACY. This is something the House Select Committee on Assassinations determined years ago. 10. If Mr. Dankbaar is "sickened" by my comments I suppose I should be sickened by the fact that Joe West's insistence on the exhumation of President Kennedy's body showed little respect for the dead President or HIS family. At first I was encouraged by Mr. Dankbaar's openness. I now see his approach is similar to that of Mr. Vernon. His self-serving righteous indignation is truly pathetic. Here we have a person who demands much from others but little from himself. He requires answers to his questions while refusing to rebut challenges to his self-professed "documentation." Frankly I'm tired of this entire charade. Mr. Dankbaar should already know the United States Government once again has dismissed this story. On April 28, 2003 Mr. Vernon set his letter and Shelton's investigation to the authorities. In less than two months he received the reply reproduced below. His investigation has come full circle ending up where it started almost forty years ago at the Dallas FBI office. |

U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation Washington, D.C. 29535 June 18, 2003 Mr. Robert G. Vernon 2609 Coffee Tree Court Antioch, CA 94509 Dear Mr. Vernon: Your April 28th communication to the Attorney general regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was referred to the FBI for reply, where it was received on June 6th. In the interest of thoroughness and justice, the FBI has, from time to time, conducted follow-up inquiries into new allegations that appear credible regarding this assassination. The results have been furnished to the Department of Justice. None of these allegations and subsequent inquiries have uncovered information warranting reopening the investigation. We do continue to accept and investigate all credible information on this tragic event. Therefore, a copy of your communication is being sent to our Dallas Office, which handled this investigation. For your information, in 1992 the 102nd Congress of the United States passed legislation calling for the release of all government records relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This is known as the JFK Records Collection Act of 1992. This Act requires all government agencies and offices to transmit all "assassination records" to the National Archives and Records Administration for public access. The FBI has met the established goals and completed its transfer of over 951,000 pages to the National Archives and Records Administration. These materials are available for public inspection at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland. For further information, you can contact the JFK Access Staff at (301) 713-6620. Sincerely yours, Signed Nancy Bronstein Executive Secretarial Office FBI/DOJ |

Original Message ----- From: wim dankbaar To: Dave Perry Sent: Friday, October 03, 2003 5:24 AM Subject: Re: I'm honored with your interest! Don't worry, Mr. Perry, I will address your false claims, however not to you personally. Can't you read? I guess you must just practice a little patience and stay tuned on the forum at www.jfkmurdersolved.com. You're already losing yourself in abusive language and insults, so I think a personal exchange would only result in further deterioration of good manners. But yes, I'm still honored with the fact that you invest so much time and effort in "debunking" our so obvious "hoax" story. However, it seems that you have a little more time on your hands. I have other things to do than devoting all of my time to you immediately. That's why I'm honored with your attention, although it begins to look like the obsession of a stalker. Wim Dankbaar Yes I can read but it appears you have a short-term memory problem. Notice I always put your remarks in quotes. You used the phrase "addressing me personally." I do have lots of patience and have checked the web site on and off. I stopped when Mr. Vernon started charging for access. I found it offers little that advances the "truth." I guess I misunderstood the urgency of your original message. The message where you wanted a copy of my article in Word format so you "could insert the corrections for my many distortions and errors." Can you provide me with the list of specific words I use that you consider abusive? Unless they were previously used by you or Mr. Vernon, I will try to avoid their use in the future. I appreciate your concern. Not only am I retired and receiving a pension but I also work from home as a Contract Administrator. The Kennedy assassination is my avocation so I do devote a lot of time to it. I can understand why my efforts might cause some anxiety on your part but comparing me to a "stalker" seems to me to be a bit paranoid. One reason this story has interested me is that Mr. Vernon wanted me to get involved. On March 8, 1994 Mr. Vernon called me. He indicated he heard I was a "competent researcher", wanted me to "get my private investigator's license", and join in the investigation. Instead of reimbursing me for the license he wanted to repay me from the profits "from the sale of rights to TV or (a) book." I told him I preferred to be reimbursed for the license. He declined my offer and moved on. Mr. Vernon later claimed this was all a lie in particular the part about being a "competent researcher" but later "I believe the statement I made to Perry was that I had heard that he was a competent researcher - and it was meant to set him at ease so he would 'open up.' You see Jan, I have learned quickly from these researchers, investigative journalists, and investigators how to use ploys and get them to talk to me." If you question the above quote ask Mr. Vernon to show you his June 17, 1995 CompUServe Part 4 posting to Jan Duffy-King. Mr. Vernon would sometimes reply to messages using the name Kathryn Marvin who he indicated was his "associate and partner." Why did he use the name Kathryn Marvin? It was because the forum administrator denied him entry for his continued use of abusive language. Let me ask you this Mr. Dankbaar - Did Mr. Vernon consider you a researcher, investigative journalist, or investigator? Did he see in you a potential investor who knew little about the case and could cut his losses? Just when did Mr. Vernon "put you at ease so you would open up?" What "ploys" did he use to get you to talk to him? He tried and failed to get me to invest between $50 and $400 for a Private Investigator's license. How much did Dr. Truth get from you? |
